Bartonella ist eine der häufigsten Co-Infektionen der Borreliose. Wie Borrelien wird es normalerweise durch Zecken übertragen. Bartonella verursacht eine Krankheit namens Bartonellose.

Die natürliche Behandlung der Bartonellose berücksichtigt sowohl die antibakterielle Aktivität als auch die Störung der lebenswichtigen Funktionen von Bakterien im Körper, schützt die befallenen Gewebe und Organe, hemmt die Zytokin-Kaskade und stärkt das Immunsystem.

Kräuter, die eine starke antibakterielle Wirkung gegen Bartonella aufweisen, sind: Houttuynia, Isatis und Alchornea cordifolia. Bühner empfiehlt, diese Kräuter als Mischung zu verwenden. Das Produkt AHI Herbal Mix ist eine fertige Mischung dieser drei Kräuter in den von Bühner empfohlenen Anteilen.

Bartonella zeigt eine starke Affinität zu zwei Strukturen im Körper: Endothelzellen und roten Blutkörperchen. Bartonella zirkuliert nach dem Eintritt in den Organismus des Wirts etwa 3–4 Tage im Blutkreislauf des Wirts und bewohnt dann die primäre Nische, die die Endothelzellen der Blutgefäße sind. Nach einigen Tagen erreichen die Bakterien dann die Erythrozyten (rote Blutkörperchen), wo sie sich vermehren. Durch den Angriff auf rote Blutkörperchen hat Bartonella auch Zugang zu Häm, das sein Überleben sichert. Durch die Aufspaltung des Häms in seine Bestandteile kann es die benötigten Nährstoffe, einschließlich Eisen, erhalten.

Der Schutz des Endothels und der roten Blutkörperchen vor einer Bartonella-Invasion ist eines der Schlüsselelemente für eine erfolgreiche Behandlung.
